About The Green Room
The Green Room started as a non profit organisation. It was the byproduct of a couple of friends working in the IT industry and related fields who decided to take on the challenge of setting up a secure, lightweight linux based dedicated server.
They rented some rack space from an American provider, had a distribution of Linux loaded on the device and were away. The next several months were spent poring over Linux textbooks and manuals for Linux network administration. Many mailing lists were consulted, many Google queries performed, the result of which was a fast and robust server running Apache, PHP, MySQL, Proftpd, Exim, Spamassassin and more.
The Green Room has since expanded to provide web hosting, web development, seo consulting and network administration for a range of predominantly small businesses.
